Back End

I was standing at the pinnacle of my career. I looked at him waving at me. His old body, gray hair, wrinkled skin, slightly bent spine, thick glasses and dry lips had absolutely no impact on his determination. His shoulders were still strong like a rock. He ignored everything over the years and kept fighting against all the odds.

He turned around and started walking away. It was the first time that I noticed wounds which He took at his back while showing his smiling face to everyone. He was like those iron rods which were rusted while supporting the building but are still supporting.

His victory was visible from his swag. His victory was not his gain but mine. He didn't get any credit; poems were not written for Him; He was not named in thank you speeches; gifts were not given to Him; Social media was silent on his contributions. While other gender stole the show, He was happy supporting from the back-end.

He knew what I needed rather than what I wanted. He observed me very closely. He knew my hormonal changes, my friends, my strengths and weaknesses, my behavior and my diet. He knew me more than myself. He was not just creator but also architect of my life.

He made me self-sufficient and His job was done.
