Most Boring Things in India

Here are few things which are very much there in front of us whether we like these or not. It may be due to media hype that these grab our attention.

1.       Salman Khan

He is a person with probably most fan following in India. But his similar acting (or should I say making faces on camera) makes me sick. When some Salman movie releases, never even for a flash I think to watch it. Not only in movies but in all ads and TV shows also his expressions and style of talking remain same. E-media is after girls he dates. And entire India has only question to ask – when will he get married?

He was a very good actor in all kind of roles – action, comedy, drama, love stories etc. But don’t want to watch him anymore.
2.       Cricket

I am sure that people would agree with me on this. Cricket is now overdose. Cricket season never ends. We have stopped following so many series. Earlier we used to remember the matches and could discuss about those ever after years but now, no one remembers matches except some great performances. Now I don’t feel bad even when India loses a couple of series. Not because I stopped liking cricket or I am not patriotic anymore but just because I know that India would win in next series. These cricket series are now played continuously in series. We are tired of watching so much cricket but kudos to player who play and remain fit.

3.       Health related marketing

This is another area which has gripped India in recent years. Staying healthy is good but companies have marketed their products to create an environment where a normal person cannot stay untouched. For instance use olive oil instead of other oils in cooking. Olive oil is as bad (or good) to our health as any other oil. Brown bread, packed juices, atta noodles, biscuits and negative marketing about dry fruits and India traditional foods are all marketing gimmick.

Not only food but products like soap, diapers etc are also marketed in name of health. A company even advertised mosquito repellent by saying that when mosquitoes bite they inject germs in our body. Isn’t it laughable?

4.       Rapes

India is not rape capital of world but when I read morning newspaper, I see at least 1 rape news daily. Earlier I got carried away like any other common man. But then I started analysing the news. If you see carefully, most of the news are vanished after few hours means that media just wants to report a news to grab attention or may be to scare common people but nothing happens after that. No help is provided to girl or boys’ statement is not even recorded. Not sure how many of these news are true news. But the impact is that every man has started considering other men rapists. If the person is a lady then every man is a rapist except her brother.

A friend of mine was in a local train at 10 PM. She slept while travelling and when she got up, she noticed her ex sitting next to her. She got so scared that she ran away from the station considering he would rape her. She took this step even when it was 10 PM and there was no one else in the train and at the railway station. God forbid but she was more safe in his company than running to some unknown destination. A sincere appeal to media to stop scaring people and creating such unhealthy environment in the country.

5.       Politics

This is a topic which remains hot irrespective of the situation in the country. Netas are always blamed no matter how good our country is doing. Opposition party always has some agenda. Common people like me are really sick of it. Sometimes I feel that a positive dictator should take power in his hands and change everything overnight. Now before you start raising your eyebrows, I do not intend to end democracy. Just a positive person (like Sardar Patel or Lal Bahadur Shastri) should take power and end this dirty politics. We want to see a change in our political system. Hey you all politicians and political parties, please work together to bring best for the nation.
